Your Land, Your Legacy

A Management Guide for Landowners

Because of the generosity of landowners who had the foresight to protect their land in perpetuity, we have a growing critical mass of open space in the Willistown area.  What started out to be a mosaic of conserved land dotted throughout the area, is now an area with increasing amounts of contiguous protected space.

This growing mass affords us a wonderful opportunity to enhance the land for the benefit of flora and fauna, if we manage our properties appropriately.   The guidelines outlined in Your Land, Your Legacy are designed to help you take care of your land in a way that will make a positive impact on both native species and our environment, cultivating physical beauty and healthy ecosystems.

A single Willistown area landowner practicing proper land stewardship can make a big difference, but the benefits escalate if your next door neighbor follows the same practices, and his neighbor, and his neighbor etc.  The coinage “Think Globally, Act Locally” certainly applies here.

We hope you find these guidelines helpful.
