Volunteer Opportunities

Wildflower Planting
Over 1200 native wildflowers and grasses were planted by volunteers at the Trust offices in April 2008, where we are converting mowed lawn to a wildflower meadow.

The Trust is involved in many fun & exciting activities and greatly appreciate the help that volunteers provide to make it all happen. Please consider donating a couple hours of your time. We have the best volunteers and we always have fun ~ please join us!

Fill out our online volunteer questionnaire.
Or call 610.353.2562 or email land@wctrust.org to tell us how you can help!

Office Assistance
Join our staff and take part in administrative projects.  Spreadsheet and word processing skillls? We can use you.

Call for Gardeners!
A beautiful native plant garden has been established at our office and we’d greatly appreciate a crew to maintain this garden.

Label, Stuff and Stamp ~Always great goodies, stories and laughs among the volunteers!
We conduct major mailings in late spring and early fall.

Foodies
Do you love to cook? We're looking for a few imaginative cooks to help out with some of our events. For example: Got a great chicken salad recipe? We donate 50 yummy lunches for the fence judges at the Radnor Hunt Horse Trials every October. Want to explore celeriac and fennel recipes? The farm would love to have someone make a few farm-fresh recipes on CSA pick-up day to promote some of the more unusual vegetables in the share. Want to make Brushcetta for 100, with Rushton Farm tomatoes? Help us out with the Summer Celebration and Tomato Tasting
.

Event Assistance
Join us in making our events a success.  They’re fun, exciting, and vary from year to year.
Countryside Bash, Run-a-Muck, Harvest Celebration, etc. Lots of jobs available for these events.

Calling Amateur Photographers
We're working hard to preserve Willistown's rural beauty, and can never have enough photographs of our glorious countryside. Got a knack for landscape or wildlife photography? Prefer capturing people enjoying the land? Give us a call and we'll send you on assignment!

Chase for Conservation
The Trust is the beneficiary of this annual event hosted by Radnor Hunt Pony Club which offers a fabulous trail ride that sho cases the protected open spaces and equestrial trails of the Willistown area. Be a crossing guard and help horses and riders safely navigate the course where it crosses the roads. Held in early November.

Stewardship Days
Join us at our Preserves when we have an energetic day or two of tree planting (great for kids), invasive plant species removal, trail maintenance and garden renewal.

Harvest Celebration at Rushton Farm
Come volunteer and have fun assisting with event activities such as: guest check-in, pumpkin carving, hayrides, parking, refreshments, and tending to the campfire. A photographer would be great too. Receive a complimentary ticket!

Work on the Farm
Check out the farm web site to see the many ways you can get involved in Rushton Farm, where we are growing healthy food for the community. If you like working outdoors & you’re interested in learning about sustainable agriculture ~ join the farm managers for Open Volunteer Day every Wednesday, 11am to 4pm, May-September.
