Volunteer Opportunities

Over 1200 native wildflowers and grasses were planted by volunteers at the Trust offices in April 2008, where we are converting mowed lawn to a wildflower meadow. |
The Trust is involved in many fun & exciting activities and greatly appreciate the help that volunteers provide to make it all happen. Please consider donating a couple hours of your time. We have the best volunteers and we always have fun ~ please join us!

Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance
The Trust is a beneficiary of this fabulous fall event.
Come volunteer and receive a free pass to “The 100 Motor Cars of Radnor Hunt” . . . a simply
spectacular one-of-a-kind and classic automobiles show, plus receive a Willistown Conservation Trust gift!
Saturday, September 13- Assist with the Road Rally for an hour or two Saturday morning.
Sunday, September 14- Assist with check-in at the front gate or at the Trust booth - sell hats while informing
inquiring guests of our mission and distribute Trust literature. Shifts are available between 9:15am - 4:00pm.
Environmental Festival
Hosted by Willistown Friends Meeting.“Saving the Earth Starts at Home” is a fun environmental festival for the whole family. Volunteers will
iinform inquiring guests of our mission, distribute Trust literature, and sell hats at the Trust booth. Receive a
complimentary snack and a Trust gift. Saturday, September 20 at the Willistown Friends Meeting; free
admission. Shifts are available between 11:00am - 6:00pm.
Sixth Annual “Golf and Good Nature” Outing
A fabulous day of golf. “Golf and Good Nature” is an event to raise funds to continue our land protection and land stewardship
efforts. The outing is Monday, September 29 at White Manor Country Club. Volunteers will assist with event
and silent auction setup, hole in one contest, putting contest, and auction checkout. Receive a complimentary lunch
at the Club and a WCT gift.
Stewardship Days
Be Stewards of the Preserves.
Don your work gloves, take a few morning stretches, and help care for our beautiful Preserves. Tasks will
likely include tree planting, invasive plant removal, fence mending, and debris removal.
Saturday morning,
October 4 - 9:00am at Kirkwood Preserve and Saturday morning, November 8 - 9:00am at Ashbridge
Preserve. Enjoy coffee, a morning snack, and receive a Trust gift.
Harvest Celebration at Rushton Farm
Saturday, October 18 - 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
Come volunteer and have fun assisting with event activities such as: guest check-in, pumpkin carving, hayrides,
parking, refreshments, and tending to the campfire. A photographer would be great too. Receive a complimentary
ticket!
Work on the Farm
Check out the farm web site to see the many ways you can get involved in Rushton Farm, where we are growing healthy food for the community.
Conservation Advocate
Get involved in conservation policy. Important federal, state, and local legislation issues are currently at stake affecting our conservation mission.
Through advocacy, the Trust is working to make the Conservation Easement Tax Incentive permanent, and to protect Pennsylvania’s Open-Space Fund. With our assistance, as a conservation advocate volunteer, you will communicate with public officials via letters, telephone and email. Join us and make a difference!
Office Assistance
Join our staff and take part in administrative projects. Label, stuff and stamp. Always great goodies, stories and laughs among the volunteers. We can easily train you, flexible hours and closed weekends!
Gardening
A beautiful native plant garden has been established at our office and we’d greatly appreciate a crew to maintain this garden, along with our first beautification project at the corner of Goshen and Delchester Roads.
