October 29, 2009 - Today marked the last CSA pickup. Thanks for a wonderful season.

October 19, 2009 - First frost! Yesterday was the last day of the season for the Sunday farm market. Pumpkins in the share this week!

September 22, 2009 - Beets and potatoes in the share this week! Tons of volunteers continuing to show up on Wednesdays. Paths for Run-a-Muck are being mowed.

August 24, 2009 - Watermelons were given out in the share today! Still fighting the results of continuing heavy rains in the fields, but crops are still producing well.

August 10, 2009 - Several very severe rain storms and blight are hitting some of our tomatoes, but hopefully our large quantities will make up for losses.

JJuly 6, 2009 - Leafy crops are going gangbusters! Volunteers are coming out in droves on Wednesdays.

June 2, 2009 - Our first CSA pick up is today, with many beautiful lettuces and greens in the share.

May 6, 2009 - We've started our orchard with 7 apple trees and 4 chery trees. The first tomatoes have been planted and thanks to the help of volunteers, potatoes are in. Carrots, beets and spinach up.

April 14, 2009 - Peas are up! Beets and carrots have been sown. Brassicas are going in later this week. Asparagus crowns were planted yesterday in the farmshed garden.

March 30, 2009 - The new greenhouse frame has been erected. Early bed preparation is under way.

February 18, 2009 - The season has begun! We sowed onions today in the protected shelter of the blacksmith shop.

Welcome!
Rushton Farm

The Willistown Conservation Trust Community Farm Program launched its wildly successful first growing season in 2008, where we combined land, local food and community. The program is a model for sustainable agriculture and celebrates open space and natural resource protection.

The expanded 2009 program continues at Rushton Farm, a six acre field in Willistown Township that has never been exposed to pesticides or herbicides. The adjacent Rushton Woods Preserve is an important part of our vision for the program.
