Wow! What an amazing response we have had from the community. We are thrilled that so many people are interested in becoming members of the CSA at Rushton Farm.
Founded in 2008, our current CSA membership serves 100 families. Remember, you don’t have to be a member to visit Rushton Farm. Since it is part of the 80-acre Rushton Woods Preserve, it’s open to the public every day during daylight hours. Come check us out!
Check out the Wild Carrot Blog, which has replaced our weekly Wild Carrot newsletter, for farm and crop updates as well as favorite recipes. The Wild Carrot Archives 2008 – 2012, document the first five years of the farm, and are chock full of recipes too. Since the Harvest List is included in each issue of the Wild Carrot, it’s a great way to get an idea of what to expect in the share each week.
And don’t miss the frequently asked questions and the CSA Manual!
What’s is Like Being in the Rushton Farm CSA?
The current fee for Rushton Farm CSA membership fee is $800 per season. You’ll get to pick up your share from the farm once per week on your assigned day, which will be either Tuesdays or Fridays. Each share is designed to approximately supply a family of four. Looking at past issues of the Wild Carrot will give you a good idea of what to expect in the typical share throughout the season.
Members are allowed to split a share, but they must find the other family and manage their own pick up and splitting logistics.
If you’d like to join a list of those interested in CSA membership, send email with your complete contact information, including mailing address and phone number, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
